About this statute

This part sets up whistleblowing procedures, privacy rules, investigation powers, reprisal protections, reporting duties, and offences for the Public Interest Disclosure Act. A special committee must review the Act at least every 5 years and report to the Legislative Assembly within one year of appointment. Some reports may recommend amendments. A pre-commencement investigation by the Information and Privacy Commissioner may continue under the older Act, and the Act is brought into force by regulation of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
