B93 Regulation 4/2021 Registered January 15, 2021 bilingual version (HTML) Definitions 1 The following definitions apply in this regulation. "Act" means The Buildings Act . («  Loi  ») "building code" means the most recent version of the Manitoba Building Code made under the Act. («  Code du bâtiment  ») M.R. 77/2023 Designated buildings 2 This regulation applies to the following classes of buildings that have been designated by the minister under subsection 5(1) of the Act: 1. A post-disaster building within the meaning of the building code. 2. A building that (a) has a floor area that exceeds 600 m 2 (6,000 sq. ft.); (b) exceeds three storeys; or (c) is classified as belonging to one of the following groups or divisions referred to in Table 3.1.2.1., "Major Occupancy Classification" of the building code: (i) Group A — Assembly occupancies, (ii) Group B — Detention or Care occupancies, except for Group B, Division 4 — Home-type care occupancies, (iii) Group F, Division 1 — High-hazard industrial occupancies. M.R. 77/2023 Exemption criteria 3 For buildings described in section 2, a municipality may be exempted under subsection 5(2) of the Act if it has assigned the authority to inspect and issue permits for those buildings to one or more individuals who (a) have successfully completed a training program offered or recognized by the director respecting inspecting and issuing permits for those buildings; or (b) in the opinion of the director , have the training and experience that is appropriate to inspect and issue permits for those building. M.R. 102/2023 Repeal 4 The Classes of Buildings Designation Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 48/2010, is repealed.
