Application for Benefits Regulation, M.R. 6/95 The Prescription Drugs Cost Assistance Act , C.C.S.M. c. P115 Regulation 6/95 Registered January 23, 1995 bilingual version (HTML) Definition of benefit year 1 In this regulation, "benefit year" means the year beginning on April 1 and ending on March 31 of the next year. The application must be in a form acceptable to the minister and filed before March 31 of the first benefit year in which benefits are being claimed. 3(1.1) Despite subsection (1), an eligible person is not required to file an application for benefits under Part 3 of the Prescription Drugs Payment of Benefits Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 60/96. 3(2) An eligible person who has made an application under subsection (1) must make a separate application for benefits in respect of the purchase of a specified drug not entered on the electronic data storage system referred to in section 9 of the Prescription Drugs Payment of Benefits Regulation . This application must be filed within six months after the date of purchase. M.R. 61/96; 123/2001 ; 53/2020 ; 37/2024 Receipts 4(1) An application for benefits referred to in subsection 3(2) shall be accompanied by receipts in a form acceptable to the minister. 4(2) If an eligible person, (a) is unable to produce a receipt as required under subsection (1) to verify an item of cost of a specified drug purchased in Manitoba because the receipt has been lost or destroyed or is unavailable for a reason satisfactory to the minister; or (b) applies for benefits in respect of specified drugs purchased in a province or territory of Canada outside Manitoba; the person shall file with the application such receipts, records, papers or other documents as the minister may require to verify each item of cost of specified drugs and that the purchaser is an eligible person.
