Pari-Mutuel Levy Regulation, M.R. 22/2022 The Pari-Mutuel Levy Act , C.C.S.M. c. P12 Regulation 22/2022 Registered March 25, 2022 bilingual version (HTML) Definitions 1 The following definitions apply in this regulation. "Act" means The Pari-Mutuel Levy Act . (« Loi ») "authority" means the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba. (« Régie ») Pari-mutuel levy 2 For the purpose of section 8 of the Act, a person who bets on a horse race must pay the following levy to the operator of the horse race track at the time the bet is placed: (a) 6.5% of the bet, if the person's bet depends on the selection of not more than two horses; (b) 11.5% of the bet, if the person's bet depends on the selection of three or more horses. Exemption from requirement to remit levies 3 For the purpose of subsection 10(2) of the Act, the operator of a horse race track where only standardbred harness racing takes place is not required to remit levies to the authority. Repeal 4 The Pari-Mutuel Levy Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 56/97 is repealed. Coming into force 5 This regulation comes into force on the same day that The Horse Racing Regulatory Modernization Act (Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act and Pari-Mutuel Levy Act Amended) , S.M. 2021, c. 7, comes into force.
