Classification of parks 2 Each provincial park is classified as set out in the third column of the Schedule opposite the name of the park. Additional park classification 2.1 For the purpose of clause 7(2)⁠(e) of The Provincial Parks Act , a provincial park may be classified as an indigenous traditional use park, if the main purpose of the designation is to preserve land that has been traditionally used by indigenous persons and that is significant to indigenous persons because of its natural features or cultural importance. M.R. 243/2014 Land use categories 3 The lands within each provincial park are categorized as set out in the fourth column of the Schedule opposite the name of the park. Additional land use categories 3.1(1) For the purpose of clause 7(3)⁠(g) of The Provincial Parks Act , land in a provincial park may be categorized (a) under a winter road access land use category if the main purpose of the categorization is to permit the construction and operation of a winter road; or (b) under an indigenous heritage land use category if the main purpose of the categorization is to protect a unique or representative site containing a resource of cultural, spiritual or heritage significance to indigenous persons. 3.1(2) With the exception of permitting the operation of a winter road, land with a winter road access land use categorization is intended to have the same protection as land with a backcountry land use categorization. 3.1(3) Land with an indigenous heritage land use categorization is intended to have the same protection as land with a heritage land use categorization. Repeal 5 The following regulations are repealed: (a) Provincial Park Lands Designation Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 30/91; (b) Restrictions on Resource Development and Other Activities Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 151/96.
