This regulation imposes levies on broiler hatching egg producers and hatchery operators, sets payment amounts and deadlines, and repeals the earlier 2008 levy regulation.
Broiler Hatching Egg Administration Levy Regulation, M.R. 46/2013 The Farm Products Marketing Act , C.C.S.M. c. F47 NOTE: This regulation was enacted in English only. Regulation 46/2013 Registered March 28, 2013 This regulation is made under the Manitoba Chicken Broiler Producers Marketing Plan Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 246/2004, and is Regulation No. 3, 2012 of Manitoba Chicken Producers. Levy on broiler hatching eggs marketed 1(1) A levy is imposed on each broiler hatching egg producer of $0.01239 per broiler hatching egg marketed by the producer to a hatchery operator. 1(2) A levy imposed under subsection (1) is due and payable by the broiler hatching egg producer to the board at the time and place of the marketing of the broiler hatching eggs by the producer. 1(3) A hatchery operator who receives broiler hatching eggs from a broiler hatching egg producer shall deduct from the monies payable for the eggs all levies payable by the producer to the board and shall pay the amount of the levies to the board at its office not later than 14 days after the last day of the week in which the broiler hatching eggs are hatched. M.R. 9/2020 ; 136/2021 ; 14/2025 ; 17/2026 Levy on broiler hatching eggs hatched 2(1) A levy is imposed on each broiler hatching egg producer of $0.01239 per broiler hatching egg used by the producer for hatching purposes. 2(2) A broiler hatching egg producer shall pay all levies imposed on the producer under subsection (1) to the board at its office not later than 14 days after the last day of the month in which the broiler hatching eggs are placed in an incubator. M.R. 9/2020 ; 136/2021 ; 14/2025 ; 17/2026 Levy on chicks produced 3(1) A levy is hereby imposed on each hatchery operator of $0.01133 per chick produced by the hatchery operator, except chicks produced from broiler hatching eggs (a) purchased from a broiler hatching egg producer; or (b) produced by the hatchery operator in the hatchery operator's capacity as a broiler hatching egg producer if the levies imposed under section 2 with respect to such eggs are paid to the board. 3(2) Levies imposed under subsection (1) must be paid to the board at its office not later than 14 days after the last day of the month in which the chicks are produced. M.R. 9/2020 ; 14/2025 ; 17/2026 Repeal 4 The Broiler Hatching Egg Administration Levy Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 46/2008, is repealed. Coming into force 5 This regulation comes into force on December 30, 2012, or on the day it is registered under The Regulations Act , whichever is later.
