Scrap Metal Regulation, M.R. 72/2022 The Scrap Metal Act , C.C.S.M. c. S40 Regulation 72/2022 Registered June 24, 2022 bilingual version (HTML) Limit on cash transactions 1 The maximum value of scrap metal in a transaction for which a scrap metal dealer may pay cash is $50. Reporting transactions involving restricted items 2(1) Within seven days of the day of a transaction involving one or more restricted items, a scrap metal dealer must provide the records collected by the dealer for the transaction to a law enforcement agency responsible for providing law enforcement services to the area in which the scrap metal dealer is located. 2(2) The scrap metal dealer must provide the records to the law enforcement agency by regular mail, e-mail or other electronic means acceptable to the law enforcement agency. Coming into force 3 This regulation comes into force on the same day that The Scrap Metal Act , S.M. 2022, c. 12, comes into force.
