This regulation sets fees for insurance agents and adjusters, requires those fees to be paid to the council, and splits each fee between the council and the government as shown in the Schedule.

"Act" means The Insurance Act . («  Loi  ») "agent" has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Act. (« agent ») "adjuster" has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Act. (« expert ») "council" means the Insurance Council of Manitoba established by section 3 of the Insurance Councils Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 227/91. (« Conseil ») "restricted insurance licence holder" means a restricted insurance agent licence within the meaning of section 380.1 of the Act. (« titulaire de licence restreinte ») M.R. 218/2014 Fees of agents and adjusters 2(1) The fees set out in Column 2 of the table in the Schedule are payable by agents and adjusters for the licences and services set out opposite in Column 1. 2(2) The fees payable under subsection (1) are to be paid to the council. M.R. 67/2004 ; 218/2014 Fee for restricted insurance agent licence 2.1(1) The fee for a restricted insurance agent licence is determined by the number of persons who are authorized to solicit, negotiate or transact insurance in relation to the goods or services of the restricted licence holder as at the first day of the licence year in respect of which the fee is payable, as stated in the application for a restricted licence or the application to renew a restricted licence. 2.1(2) For the purpose of the Schedule, a reference to "number of authorized persons" in the table in the Schedule is a reference to the number of persons stated in an application referred to in subsection (1) as authorized to solicit, negotiate or transact insurance in relation to the goods or services of the person applying for a restricted licence or to renew one. M.R. 218/2014 Council and government portions of a fee 3 Upon receiving a fee set out in Column 2 of the table in the Schedule, the council must pay to the government the portion of the fee shown in Column 4 as the government portion. The council may retain the portion of the fee shown in Column 3 as the council portion. M.R. 67/2004 ; 218/2014 Transitional provision re restricted insurance agent licences 3.1 Despite section 3 and the Schedule, the council may retain the government portion of the fees for restricted insurance agent licences paid in respect of such licences issued for a licence year that ends before June 1 of the third year after the year in which this section comes into force. M.R. 218/2014 Repeal 4 The Insurance Agents and Adjusters Fees Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 98/92, is repealed. Coming into force 5 This regulation comes into force on June 1, 1993.
