This regulation sets nutrient concentration targets for parts of Lake Winnipeg and nutrient loading targets for specified tributary rivers.

"Lake Winnipeg — narrows" means the channel separating Lake Winnipeg — north basin and Lake Winnipeg — south basin. (« passage du lac Winnipeg ») "Lake Winnipeg — north basin" means the part of Lake Winnipeg located between the following boundaries: (a) a straight line drawn from Willow Point light tower to the western-most point on Commissioner Island, to the southwestern point on the south shore of Berens Island, to the north-east shore light tower of Berens Island, and then from this point to the southern-most point of land at Disbrowe Point; (b) the northern shore of the lake. (« bassin nord du lac Winnipeg ») "Lake Winnipeg — south basin" means the part of Lake Winnipeg located between the following boundaries: (a) a straight line drawn along Grassy Narrows to Hecla Island, across Hecla Island to the Gull Harbour light tower, directly east to Black Island, across Black Island to Red Cliff, to Clements Point light tower (northwest of the mouth of the Manigotagan River); (b) the mouth of the Red River.
