Davidson Wildlife Management Area 43.1 Wellington Wildlife Management Area 43.2 Whitemouth Bog Wildlife Management Area 44 Whitemud Watershed Wildlife Management Area 45 Whitewater Lake Wildlife Management Area 46 Permits PART 4 SPECIAL CONSERVATION AREAS 47 Special conservation areas 48 Walter Cook Special Conservation Area 48.1 Grand Marais Special Conservation Area 48.2 Sandy Bar Special Conservation Area 48.3 St. Andrews Lock and Dam Special Conservation Area PART 5 ANIMAL CONTROL AREAS 49 Bait station zones and lure crop areas 50 Oak Hammock Waterfowl Control Area 51 Interference with animal control 52 Repeal 53 Coming into force PART 1 INTERPRETATION Definitions 1 In this regulation, "Act" means The Wildlife Act: («  Loi  ») "animal control area" means an area designated by regulation under the Act as an animal control area; (« zone de surveillance des animaux ») "bait station zone" means a place where cereal grain, forage or other forms of enticement have been placed by the Crown for the purpose of attracting wildlife and includes all land within 400 metres of the place where the bait has been placed, the boundary of the zone being indicated by signs while the zone is in operation; (« zone d'appât ») "department" means the department of government over which the minister presides and through which this Act is administered; (« ministère ») "lure crop area" means a place where cereal grain, forage or other forms of enticement have been grown or purchased by the Crown for the purpose of attracting wildlife, the use of which may be supplemented by the placing of additional grain, forage or other forms of enticement and includes all land within 400 metres from the edge of the lure crop, the boundary of the area being indicated by signs while the area is in operation; (« zone de culture de diversion ») "refuge" means an area designated by regulation under the Act as a refuge; (« réserve ») "special conservation area" means an area designated by regulation under the Act as a special conservation area; (« zone de conservation spéciale ») "wildlife management area" means an area designated by regulation under the Act as a wildlife management area. (« zone de gestion de la faune ») M.R. 114/2001 ; 129/2006 PART 2 REFUGES Wildlife refuges 2(1) In a wildlife refuge, no person shall (a) hunt, take, kill, capture, retrieve or possess wildlife; or (b) possess or discharge a loaded firearm. Harry Cox Wildlife Refuge 2(2) In the Harry Cox Wildlife Refuge, no person, except the lawful occupant of the land which constitutes the refuge, shall use a vehicle except to assist in a farming operation located within the refuge. M.R. 19/2008 Game bird refuges 3(1) In a game bird refuge, no person shall (a) hunt, take, kill, capture, retrieve or possess a game bird; or (b) possess a loaded firearm. 3(2) Except in the Minnedosa Lake Game Bird Refuge, clause (1)⁠(b) does not apply to a person who is trapping fur bearing animals or hunting big game under the authority of a licence issued under the Act. Goose refuges 4 In a goose refuge, no person shall hunt, take, kill, capture, retrieve or possess any species of goose. 5 [Repealed] M.R. 129/2006 6 [Repealed] M.R. 51/2021 PART 3 WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS Prohibition 7(1) Except as otherwise provided in this regulation, no person shall, in a wildlife management area (a) grade, gravel or clear a road or trail; (b) install or modify a stream crossing; (c) drain, dyke, or block a manmade or natural waterway or wetland; (d) engage in haying, grazing, clearing, bulldozing, burning, fencing, logging, cultivation, mineral exploration or extraction; (e) apply pesticides; or (f) construct, place, occupy or use a building, structure or tent. 7(1.1) Clause (1)⁠(d) does not apply to a person removing minerals under authority of a casual quarry permit issued under the Quarry Minerals Regulation, 1992 , Manitoba Regulation 65/92. 7(2) Clause (1)⁠(f) does not apply to a person who occupies or uses a portable structure or tent in a wildlife management area if (a) the portable structure or tent is designed primarily for temporary living accommodation and is removed when the person leaves the wildlife management area; and (b) the person is engaged in lawful recreational activities or the lawful hunting of wildlife, wild animals or exotic animals. M.R. 19/2008 Commercial activities prohibited 7.1(1) Except as otherwise provided in this regulation, no person shall carry on any commercial activity or sell or offer for sale any article in a wildlife management area. 7.1(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to (a) a person trapping under authority of a licence or permit issued under the Trapping of Wild Animals Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 245/90; and (b) a person providing guiding services under authority of the Hunting Guides Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 110/93. M.R. 129/2006 ; 224/2006 Organized events or activities prohibited 7.2 Except as otherwise provided in this regulation, no person shall conduct any of the following in a wildlife management area: (a) an organized activity or event which members of a club, group, church or other organization are invited to attend; (b) an organized activity or event which advertisements or other public notices invite members of the general public to attend. M.R. 129/2006 Alonsa Wildlife Management Area 8 In Township 22, Range 13 West and being Sections 19 to 22 inclusive, the west half of Section 23, Sections 27 to 33 inclusive, and in Township 23, Range 13 West and being the west half of Section 3, Sections 4 and 5 and the east half of Section 6 of the Alonsa Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Assiniboine Corridor Wildlife Management Area 8.1 In the Assiniboine Corridor Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Brandon Hills Wildlife Management Area 9 In the Brandon Hills Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a vehicle; (b) possess a firearm, unless the person is hunting big game or game birds under the authority of a licence issued under the Act; or (c) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Broad Valley Wildlife Management Area 9.1 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following portions of the Broad Valley Wildlife Management Area: (e) in Township 23, Range 2 West and being Section 31; and (f) in Township 24, Range 3 West and being the northeast quarter of Section 1 and Section 12. M.R. 114/2001 Broomhill Wildlife Management Area 10 In the Broomhill Wildlife Management Area, no person shall use a vehicle during an upland game bird hunting season. Churchill Wildlife Management Area 11 While supplying accommodation or touring facilities, or while conducting scientific or research studies in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a vehicle; or (b) despite subsection 7(2), construct, place, occupy or use a building, structure or tent. M.R. 129/2006 12 [Repealed] M.R. 183/2009 Cayer Wildlife Management Area 13 In Township 28, Range 13 West and being the west half of Section 13, the east half of Section 14, the north half of Section 23, the west half of Section 24, the southwest quarter of Section 25 and the south half of Section 26 of the Cayer Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. C. Stuart Stevenson Wildlife Management Area 14 In the C. Stuart Stevenson Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. David G. Tomasson Wildlife Management Area 14.1 In Township 25, Range 3 East and being Section 10, the west half of the west half of Section 14, and the east half of Section 15 of the David G. Tomasson Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Deerwood Wildlife Management Area 15 In the Deerwood Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Delta Marsh Wildlife Management Area 15.1 In the Delta Marsh Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a power boat; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 129/2006 Dog Lake Wildlife Management Area 16 In the Dog Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) use a vehicle or a powerboat for a purpose connected with hunting; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 95/2011 Donald W. Orchard Wildlife Management Area 16.1 In the Donald W. Orchard Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Edward A. Poyser Wildlife Management Area 16.2 In the Edward A. Poyser Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Dr. Frank Baldwin Wildlife Management Area 16.3 In the Dr. Frank Baldwin Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a power boat; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Frank W. Boyd Wildlife Management Area 16.4 In the Frank W. Boyd Wildlife Management Area no person shall use a vehicle during an upland game bird or big game hunting season. M.R. 36/2021 Grant's Lake Wildlife Management Area 17 In the Grant's Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) possess a firearm, unless the person is in a vehicle on a developed road; (b) operate a vehicle, except on a developed road; (c) despite subsection 7(2), camp during the period between sunset of one day and sunrise of the following day; (d) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Harrison Wildlife Management Area 17.1 In the Harrison Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) quarry mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 Hilbre Wildlife Management Area 17.2 In the Hilbre Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 Holmfield Wildlife Management Area 18 In the Holmfield Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) hunt or kill a game bird or a big game animal; (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Inwood Wildlife Management Area 19 In the Inwood Wildlife Management Area, no person shall use a vehicle for a purpose connected with hunting except to retrieve by the most direct route a big game animal killed under the authority of a licence issued under the Act. John T. Williams Wildlife Management Area 19.0.1 In the John T. Williams Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Kaskatamagan Wildlife Management Area 19.1(1) While supplying accommodation or touring facilities, or while conducting scientific or research studies in the Kaskatamagan Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a vehicle; or (b) despite subsection 7(2), construct, place, occupy or use a building, structure or tent. 19.1(2) In those portions of the Kaskatamagan Wildlife Management Area shown on Plan No. 20423 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys at Winnipeg, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 183/2009 Kaskatamagan Sipi Wildlife Management Area 19.2 In the Kaskatamagan Sipi Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 183/2009 Kenneth H. Wark Wildlife Management Area 19.3 In the Kenneth H. Wark Wildlife Management Area no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 20 [Repealed] M.R. 129/2006 ; 36/2021 Langruth Wildlife Management Area 21 In the Langruth Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) [repealed] M.R. 19/2008; (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 19/2008 Lauder Sandhills Wildlife Management Area 22 In the Lauder Sandhills Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a vehicle except (i) on a trail designated on Plan No. 20632 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys at Winnipeg, or (ii) to retrieve by the most direct route a big game animal killed under the authority of a licence issued under the Act; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) quarry mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 ; 51/2021 Lee River Wildlife Management Area 22.1 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following portions of the Lee River Wildlife Management Area: (e) in Township 15, Range 11 East and being the southeast quarter of Section 24, the northeast quarter of Section 13, the east half of the northwest quarter of Section 13, and legal subdivisions 7 and 8 and the east half and the northwest quarter of legal subdivision 2 in Section 13; (f) in Township 16, Range 12 East and being the northwest quarter of Section 6 and the southeast quarter of Section 7. M.R. 52/2000 Little Birch Wildlife Management Area 22.2 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the Little Birch Wildlife Management Area, except in the following portions: (e) in Township 24, Range 4 West and being the north half of Section 13 and the south half of Section 24; (f) in Township 24, Range 6 West and being the northwest quarter of Section 24 and the west half of Section 25; (g) in Township 25, Range 6 West and being the west half of Section 13, Sections 25 and 26, the east half of Section 35, and Section 36. M.R. 52/2000 Little Saskatchewan River Wildlife Management Area 23 In the Little Saskatchewan River Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Mantagao Lake Wildlife Management Area 23.01 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following portions of the Mantagao Lake Wildlife Management Area: (e) in Township 25, Range 3 West and being the west half of Section 29, Sections 30 and 31 and the southeast quarter and the west half of Section 32; and (f) in Township 25, Range 4 West and being Sections 25 to 36. M.R. 114/2001 Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area 23.1(1) No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following portions of the Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area: (e) in Township 14, Range 7 East and being the north half of Section 19, the north half of the north half of the southwest quarter, the northwest quarter and the east half of Section 20, legal subdivision 15 and the northwest quarter of Section 21, the south half of the north half and the south half of Section 29, and the east half of Section 30; (f) in Township 15, Range 7 East and being the west half of Section 3 and the west half of the northeast quarter of Section 3, the north half of legal subdivision 7, legal subdivision 8 and the southwest and northeast quarters of Section 4, the northwest quarter of Section 7, the east half of the southeast quarter of Section 9, the southwest quarter of Section 10, legal subdivisions 10, 15 and 16 in Section 17, and the west half of Section 17. 23.1(2) Subject to this section, a person must not operate a vehicle in the Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area unless the vehicle is operated on a trail designated on Plan No. 20527 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys at Winnipeg. 23.1(3) A person must not operate a vehicle on the trail identified as Trail No. 11 on Plan No. 20527 during the period beginning on April 1 and ending on November 30. 23.1(4) A person may operate a vehicle off a designated trail in Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area if the vehicle is used to retrieve a big game animal killed under the authority of a licence issued under the Act using the most direct route possible. M.R. 52/2000 ; 216/2013 Marshy Point Wildlife Management Area 24 In the Marshy Point Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) use a vehicle for a purpose connected with hunting except to retrieve by the most direct route a big game animal killed under the authority of a big game hunting licence; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Narcisse Wildlife Management Area 25 No person shall (a) in Township 20, Range 1 West and being the west half of Section 22 of the Narcisse Wildlife Management Area, (i) operate a vehicle, or (ii) hunt, take, kill, capture or possess a garter snake; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following portions of the Narcisse Wildlife Management Area: (v) in Township 20, Range 1 West and being the east half of Section 35, and the west half and the southeast quarter of Section 36, (vi) in Township 20, Range 2 West and being Sections 9 to 16, the south half and the northeast quarter of Section 21, Sections 22 to 27, the south half and the northeast quarter of Section 34, and Sections 35 and 36, (vii) in Township 21, Range 1 West and being the west half and the northeast quarter of Section 1, Section 2, the east half of Section 3 and the southeast quarter of Section 12, (viii) in Township 21, Range 2 West and being Sections 1 and 2, Sections 11 and 12, the west half and the southeast quarter of Section 13, Section 14, the southeast quarter of Section 21, the south half of Section 22 and Section 23, and (ix) in Township 20, Range 1 East and being the north half and the southeast quarter of Section 36. M.R. 52/2000 ; 129/2006 Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area 26(1) The following uses, activities and facilities are authorized in the Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area: (a) the construction, operation and maintenance of (i) a conservation centre, (ii) an interpretive centre, (iii) the corporate offices of Ducks Unlimited Canada, (iv) parking facilities, (v) a sewage treatment lagoon, and (vi) pathways and related structures and facilities; (b) any use, activity, or thing incidental to the above items. 26(2) In the Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) possess a firearm, unless the person is in a vehicle on a developed road other than a dyke; (b) operate a vehicle, except on a developed road other than a dyke; (c) hunt or kill a game bird or a big game animal; (d) trap a fur bearing animal; (e) despite subsection 7(2), camp during the period between sunset of one day and sunrise of the following day; (f) bring or allow an animal into the area or allow it to remain in the area, unless the person keeps it on a leash or harness or in a vehicle; or (g) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Observation Point Wildlife Management Area 26.0.1 In the Observation Point Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) quarry mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 82/2009 Onanole Wildlife Management Area 26.1 In Township 19, Range 18 West and being the east half of Section 21 of the Onanole Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Otter Lake Wildlife Management Area 27 In the Otter Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Parkland Wildlife Management Area 28 No person shall (a) in the Buckleyville or Ruska Rawa Units of the Parkland Wildlife Management Area, engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; or (b) in the Snake Creek Unit of the Parkland Wildlife Management Area, engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) quarry mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 ; 36/2021 Pembina Valley Wildlife Management Area 29 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; in the following units of the Pembina Valley Wildlife Management Area; (e) Floral Unit, excluding in Township 4, Range 12 West, the south half of legal subdivision 1 and the southeast quarter of subdivision 2 in Section 13; (f) Grassy Lake Unit, excluding in Township 4, Range 10 West, the west half of the east half of legal subdivision 3, the east half of the west half of legal subdivision 3, and the northwest quarter of legal subdivision 5 in Section 22; (g) La Riviere Unit; (h) Little Pembina Unit; (i) Marrington Unit; (j) Mowbray Unit, excluding in Township 1, Range 8 West, the southeast quarter of legal subdivision 1 in Section 13, (k) Pelican Lake Marsh Unit; (l) Riverdale Unit; (m) Neelin Unit; (n) Point Douglas Unit; (o) Snowflake Unit; (p) Stuartville Unit; (q) West Derby Unit; (r) Wood Bay Unit. M.R. 52/2000 Peonan Point Wildlife Management Area 29.1 In the Peonan Point Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 30 [Repealed] M.R. 36/2021 Portage Sandhills Wildlife Management Area 31 In the Portage Sandhills Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) during the period beginning on March 1 and ending on November 30, operate a vehicle; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 129/2006 Proulx Lake Wildlife Management Area 31.1 In the Proulx Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 Proven Lake Wildlife Management Area 32 In the Proven Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Rat River Wildlife Management Area 33 In the Rat River Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Red Deer Wildlife Management Area 33.0.1 In those portions of the Red Deer Wildlife Management Area shown on Plan No. 20565 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys at Winnipeg, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 225/2015 Riverside Wildlife Management Area 33.1 In the Riverside Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Roy Greer Wildlife Management Area 33.1.1 In the Roy Greer Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 36/2021 Skylake Wildlife Management Area 33.2 In the Skylake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 143/2018 Sleeve Lake Wildlife Management Area 34 In the Sleeve Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Souris River Bend Wildlife Management Area 35 In the Souris River Bend Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) operate a vehicle during the period beginning on April 1 and ending on November 30, except (i) on a trail designated in Plan No. 19352 filed in the office of the Director of Surveys at Winnipeg, or (ii) to retrieve by the most direct route a big game animal killed under the authority of a licence issued under the Act; or (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 52/2000 Spruce Woods Wildlife Management Area 36 In the Spruce Woods Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Spur Woods Wildlife Management Area 37 In the Spur Woods Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. St. Malo Wildlife Management Area 38 In the St. Malo Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) use a vehicle for a purpose connected with hunting except to retrieve by the most direct route a big game animal killed under the authority of a licence issued under the Act; (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, (iii) mineral exploration or extraction, or (iv) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 Stuartburn Wildlife Management Area 39 In the Stuartburn Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. Tiger Hills Wildlife Management Area 40 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; within the following units of the Tiger Hills Wildlife Management Area: (e) Delta Unit; (f) Mimir Unit; or (g) Ninette Unit, excluding in Township 5, Range 16 West, the south half and the south half of the north half of legal subdivision 1, the east half and the east half of the east half of the west half of legal subdivision 2, and the south half of the southeast quarter of legal subdivision 7 in Section 32. M.R. 52/2000 41 [Repealed] M.R. 36/2021 Upper Assiniboine Wildlife Management Area 42 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) quarry mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; within the following units of the Upper Assiniboine Wildlife Management Area: (e) Arrow River Unit; (f) Birdtail Creek Unit; (g) Gambler Unit; (h) Mayne Unit; (i) Miniota Unit; (j) Pleasant Plains Unit; (k) Reeder Unit, excluding in Township 13, Range 27 West, the south half of the south half of legal subdivision 4, the north half of the north half of the northwest quarter of legal subdivision 11, legal subdivision 15, and the north half of the southwest quarter of legal subdivision 16 in Section 10; (l) Runnymede Unit; (m) Two Creeks Unit; (n) Uno Unit; (o) Willen Unit. Wellington Wildlife Management Area 43.1 In the Wellington Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) quarry mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 114/2001 Whitemouth Bog Wildlife Management Area 43.2 In the Whitemouth Bog Wildlife Management Area, no person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) quarry mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. M.R. 81/2009 Whitemud Watershed Wildlife Management Area 44 No person shall engage in (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat; within the following units of the Whitemud Watershed Wildlife Management Area: (e) Chipping Hill Unit; (f) Clairmont Unit; (g) Edrans Unit; (h) Edington Unit; (i) Glenella Unit; (j) Grass River Unit; (k) Hummerston Unit; (l) Lower Assiniboine Unit; (m) Oak Leaf Unit; (n) Pratt Unit; (o) Robin's Ridge Unit; (p) [repealed] M.R. 36/2021; (q) Waldglen Unit. M.R. 52/2000 ; M.R. 16/2017 ; 36/2021 Whitewater Lake Wildlife Management Area 45(1) In the Whitewater Lake Wildlife Management Area, no person shall (a) use a powerboat for a purpose connected with hunting; (b) engage in (i) hydro-electric exploration or development, (ii) logging or commercial forest harvesting, or (iii) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. 45(2) No person shall engage in quarry mineral exploration or extraction in that portion of the Whitewater Lake Wildlife Management Area excluding (a) Township 3, Range 21 West and being Sections 26 and 27, the southeast quarter of Section 34, Section 35 and the west half and the southeast quarter of Section 36; (b) Township 3, Range 22 West and being the north half of Section 9, Sections 15 and 16, the northeast quarter of Section 17, the southeast quarter of Section 20, Sections 21, 22, 27 and 28 and the east half of Section 33; and (c) Township 4, Range 21 West and being the south half of Section 2. 45(3) No person shall engage in mineral exploration or extraction in the following portions of the Whitewater Lake Wildlife Management Area: (a) in Township 3, Range 21 West and being Sections 26 and 27, the southeast quarter of Section 34, Section 35 and the west half and the southeast quarter of Section 36; (b) in Township 3, Range 22 West and being the north half of Section 9, Sections 15 and 16, the northeast quarter of Section 17, the southeast quarter of Section 20, Sections 21, 22, 27 and 28 and the east half of Section 33; and (c) in Township 4, Range 21 West and being the south half of Section 2. M.R. 114/2001 ; 95/2011 Permits 46(1) Subject to subsections (2), (3), (4) and (5), the minister may grant a permit to a person authorizing an activity that is otherwise prohibited by this regulation. 46(2) The minister may not grant a permit authorizing any of the following activities in an area referred to in subsection (3): (a) hydro-electric exploration or development; (b) logging or commercial forest harvesting; (c) mineral exploration or extraction; or (d) any other activity that significantly and adversely affects habitat. 46(3) Subsection (2) applies to the following areas: (a) in Township 22, Range 13 West and being Sections 19 to 22 inclusive, the west half of Section 23, Sections 27 to 33 inclusive, and in Township 23, Range 13 West and being the west half of Section 3, Sections 4 and 5 and the east half of Section 6, in Alonsa Wildlife Management Area; (a.1) Assiniboine Corridor Wildlife Management Area; (b) Brandon Hills Wildlife Management Area; (b.1) in the following lands in the Broad Valley Wildlife Management Area: (i) in Township 23, Range 2 West and being Section 31, and (ii) in Township 24, Range 3 West and being the northeast quarter of Section 1 and Section 12; (c) in Township 28, Range 13 West and being the west half of Section 13, the east half of Section 14, the north half of Section 23, the west half of Section 24, the southwest quarter of Section 25 and the south half of Section 26, in Cayer Wildlife Management Area; (d) C. Walter Cook Special Conservation Area 48 No person shall operate an off-road vehicle as defined in The Off-Road Vehicles Act in the Walter Cook Special Conservation Area during the period beginning on April 24 and ending on August 5 except with written authorization from the Director of Wildlife. Grand Marais Special Conservation Area 48.1 No person shall operate an off-road vehicle as defined in The Off-Road Vehicles Act in the Grand Marais Special Conservation Area during the period beginning on April 1 and ending on September 15, except with written authorization from the Director of Wildlife. M.R. 177/2014 Sandy Bar Special Conservation Area 48.2 No person shall operate an off-road vehicle as defined in The Off-Road Vehicles Act in the Sandy Bar Special Conservation Area during the period beginning on April 1 and ending on September 15, except with written authorization from the Director of Wildlife. M.R. 177/2014 St. Andrews Lock and Dam Special Conservation Area 48.3 No person shall engage in angling or possess any fishing equipment in the St. Andrews Lock and Dam Special Conservation Area during the period beginning on April 1 and ending on November 15. M.R. 223/2015 PART 5 ANIMAL CONTROL AREAS Bait station zones and lure crop areas 49(1) Subject to subsection (2), no person shall hunt or possess a firearm in a bait station zone or lure crop area while it is posted by signs, except under authority of a permit issued by the minister. 49(2) A person may transport an unloaded firearm on a public road in a posted bait station zone or lure crop area. Oak Hammock Waterfowl Control Area 50 No person shall hunt or kill a game bird in the Oak Hammock Waterfowl Control Area. Interference with animal control 51 In an animal control area, no person shall interfere with (a) a trap, capture device, holding facility, bait station or lure crop operated by an officer, employee, agent or co-operator of the department for the purpose of wildlife management, wildlife research, protection of property or any other purpose that the minister deems to be in the public interest; or (b) an officer, employee, agent or co-operator of the department who is engaged in an activity associated with operating a trap, capture device, holding facility, bait station or lure crop. Repeal 52 The Uses and Activities in Wildlife Management Areas Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 41/98, is repealed. Coming into force 53(1) This regulation, except Parts 2, 4 and 5 comes into force on the day it is registered under The Regulations Act. 53(2) Parts 2, 4, and 5 come into force on May 15, 1999.
