Manitoba Building Code, M.R. 78/2023 The Buildings Act , C.C.S.M. c. B93 Regulation 78/2023 Registered July 7, 2023 bilingual version (HTML) Adoption of National Building Code of Canada 2020 1 Subject to the amendments set out in the Schedule to this regulation, the National Building Code of Canada 2020 , issued by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes of the National Research Council of Canada, is adopted as the building code in Manitoba. No substitution 2 Subject to The Buildings Act , no code issued by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes of the National Research Council of Canada, as a substitution or replacement of the National Building Code of Canada 2020 is adopted in Manitoba. Adoption of ventilation standard 3 The provisions of sections 3, 3.1, 4 and 4.1 of The Smoking and Vapour Products Control Act requiring a separate ventilation system in a tobacconist or vapour products shop, or in a room designated as a smoking room, an e-cigarette use room or a combined smoking and e-cigarette use room under that Act, are adopted as building construction standards in Manitoba. Transitional amendments 4 Subsections 2(3) to (5) of the Schedule to this regulation are repealed on the day before the date that a new edition of the National Building Code of Canada , issued by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes of the National Research Council of Canada, is adopted as the building code in Manitoba under section 3 of The Buildings Act . Repeal 5 The Manitoba Building Code , Manitoba Regulation 31/2011, is repealed. Coming into force 6 This regulation comes into force on January 1, 2024.
