A licence holder may charge only limited fees for land emergency medical response services, including a non-resident fee for people who are not Manitoba residents.

"health region" means a health region as defined in The Health System Governance and Accountability Act . (« région sanitaire ») "land emergency medical response services" means the services set out at subclause (b)⁠(iv) of the definition "land emergency medical response services" in the Land Emergency Medical Response System Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 22/2006. (« services terrestres d'intervention médicale d'urgence ») "licence holder" means a licence holder as defined in the Land Emergency Medical Response System Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 22/2006. (« titulaire de permis ») Authorized fees 2(1) A licence holder may directly charge to a person, in respect of land emergency medical response services provided to the person, a fee not exceeding the lesser of (a) $250; and (b) an amount equal to the base fee that the licence holder charged for providing land emergency medical response services on December 31, 2016. 2(2) For the purpose of clause (1)⁠(b), "base fee" means the minimum fee charged for providing land emergency response services to a person, and does not include any additional charge or fee, including, without limitation, any additional charge or fee (a) relating to the distance a person is transported; (b) for transporting a person who does not reside in the community in which the transport occurs; (c) for transporting a person who does not reside in the health region in which the transport occurs; (d) for transporting a person who is not a resident of Manitoba; or (e) for basic or advanced life support. Non-resident fees 3 In addition to the amount that may be charged under section 2, a licence holder may charge a non-resident fee directly to a person who is not a resident of Manitoba in respect of land emergency response services provided to the person. Coming into force 4 This regulation comes into force on the same day that section 3 of The Emergency Medical Response and Stretcher Transportation Amendment Act , S.M. 2017, c. 13, comes into force.
