Requirement to provide information 2(1) A practitioner who makes a claim for payment for a service to an insured person shall, on request, provide the minister with any information in the practitioner's records relating to the service and the insured person that may be relevant to the claim. 2(2) A practitioner shall comply with a request for information within 60 days from the date of the request or within such other time as the minister specifies. 2(3) If a practitioner does not provide the information requested within the time required under subsection (2), the minister may (a) withhold payment of claims to the practitioner until the information is provided; or (b) if payment has already been made, withhold the amount of the payment from money owing or that becomes owing by the minister to the practitioner. Transfer of records from one practitioner to another 3(1) If a practitioner who makes a claim for payment for a service to an insured person subsequently transfers the records respecting that claim to another practitioner, that other practitioner shall, on request, provide the minister with any information in those records relating to the service and the insured person that may be relevant to the claim. 3(2) A practitioner shall comply with a request for information within 60 days from the date of the request or within such other time as the minister specifies.
