This regulation defines which offences count as “offence” for Part 1 of The Victims' Bill of Rights and says the regulation starts when The Victims' Rights Amendment Act comes into force.

V55 Regulation 138/2001 Registered September 4, 2001 bilingual version (HTML) Designated offences 1 For the purpose of Part 1 of The Victims' Bill of Rights , "offence" means (a) one of the following offences under the Criminal Code (Canada): (i) section 220 (causing death by criminal negligence), (ii) infanticide, (iii) murder, (iv) manslaughter, (v) attempt to commit murder, (vi) section 244 (discharging firearm with intent), (vii) subsection 320.13(3) (dangerous operation causing death), (viii) subsection 320.14(3) (operation while impaired causing death), (viii.1) section 264 (criminal harassment), (ix) section 268 (aggravated assault), (x) clause 270(1)⁠(a) (assaulting a peace officer or public officer), (xi) section 272 (sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a person, causing bodily harm, gang sexual assault), (xii) section 273 (aggravated sexual assault), (xiii) section 170 (parent or guardian procuring sexual activity), (xiv) subsection 172(1) (corrupting children), (xv) section 172.1 (computer luring of children), (xvi) subsection 212(2) or (2.1) (living off avails of prostitute under 18), (xvii) subsection 212(4) (procuring prostitute under 18), (xviii) section 151 (sexual interference), (xix) section 152 (invitation to sexual touching), (xx) section 153 (sexual exploitation), (xxi) [repealed] M.R. 178/2018, (xxii) subsection 320.15(3) (failure or refusal to comply with demand — death), (xxiii) section 270.01 (assaulting peace officer with a weapon or causing bodily harm), (xxiv) section 270.02 (aggravated assault of a peace officer), (xxv) section 279.01 (trafficking in persons), (xxvi) subsection 155(1) (incest), (xxvii) section 162 (voyeurism), (xxviii) section 162.1 (knowingly distributing an intimate image of a person without consent), (xxix) section 163.1 (making, printing, publishing, possessing or accessing child pornography), (xxx) section 270.1 (disarming peace officer), (xxxi) section 271 (sexual assault), (xxxii) clauses 348(1)⁠(b) and (d), in respect of conduct that is subject to section 348.1 (home invasion), (xxxiii) section 423.1 (intimidation of justice system participant), (xxxiv) clause 465(1)⁠(a) (conspiracy to commit murder); (b) an offence under section 54 or 56 of The Workplace Safety and Health Act that relates to the death of a person; and (c) an offence under The Highway Traffic Act that relates to the death of a person.
