Prospectors may apply for assistance, but claims must include required evidence and a technical report, the work must be in Manitoba and on qualifying land, and assistance is capped at stated amounts.

(« exercice ») M.R. 181/99 Application for assistance 2 Subject to the Act and this regulation, any prospector may apply for assistance. Application for assistance 3 A prospector may apply for assistance by submitting to the director (a) before commencing the project, an application for assistance; and (b) after completing the project, a claim for reimbursement. M.R. 181/99 Evidence and technical report 4 A claim for reimbursement submitted under section 3 shall be accompanied by (a) such information or written evidence as the director may require to verify that the expenditures listed in the claim were incurred by the prospector in carrying out the project and have been paid; and (b) a technical report of the work done in carrying out the project, in the form and containing the information, maps, plans and other material required under Schedule 3. M.R. 181/99; 202/2011 Maximum amount of assistance 5(1) Subject to subsection (2), the amount of assistance provided to a prospector in respect of projects for a year shall not exceed (a) 50% of the expenditures incurred and paid in carrying out the projects; or (b) $7,500.; whichever is less. Additional assistance for air transportation 5(2) When a project is carried out in an area where the only reasonable access is by air, the director may, in his or her absolute discretion, approve an additional amount of assistance above that paid under subsection (1) to offset the cost of one return charter flight from the nearest community in Manitoba with charter air service to the project area. The additional assistance paid to a prospector in a year for air transportation shall not exceed (a) 80% of the cost of one return charter flight to the project area; or (b) $1,500.; whichever is less. M.R. 3/2001 Location of projects 6 Any project for which assistance is being sought must be carried out (a) within Manitoba; and (b) on a mineral disposition held by the applicant or on open Crown mineral land.
