M.R. 48/2018 No fee for appointment renewal in certain circumstances 6.2 Clause 6.1(b) does not apply to an applicant for appointment renewal if (a) the applicant had obtained the appointment between December 19, 2019, and June 30, 2021, for the sole purpose of officiating the marriage of two specific people on a specific date; and (b) the applicant applies for appointment renewal on or before September 30, 2021. M.R. 80/2020 ; 145/2020 Fees and expenses 7 The fees and expenses set out in Schedule B are payable for the services stated. 8 [Repealed] M.R. 6/2016 Repeal 9 The Forms, Fees and Expenses Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 346/88, is repealed. Coming into force 10 This regulation comes into force on December 1, 2004. SCHEDULE A [Repealed] M.R. 6/2016 SCHEDULE B Fees and Expenses Definition 1 In this Schedule, "civil servant" means an employee as defined in The Public Service Act . M.R. 115/2025 Fees and expenses for marriage commissioners 2(1) The parties to a marriage must pay the marriage commissioner who solemnizes their marriage ceremony and who is not a civil servant (a) a fee of $50; (b) reasonable travelling expenses; and (c) any other expenses as may be agreed upon. 2(2) The parties to a marriage must pay a fee of $100 to the marriage commissioner who solemnizes their marriage ceremony if the marriage commissioner is a civil servant and is solemnizing the ceremony as part of his or her duties as a civil servant. 2(3) The marriage commissioner must remit the fee received under subsection (2) to the Minister of Finance for deposit to the Consolidated Fund. 2(4) The marriage commissioner is not entitled to receive any additional fees or any expenses or gratuities if the ceremony is performed as part of his or her duties as a civil servant. M.R. 40/2005 ; 67/2006 ; 48/2018 Fee for marriage licence 3 A person who requests a marriage licence must pay a fee of $100 for the licence to an issuer of marriage licences. M.R. 40/2005 ; 67/2006 No fee for marriage licence in certain circumstances 3.1 Section 3 does not apply if the person who requests the marriage licence presents to the issuer on or before September 30, 2021, an expired marriage licence that had been issued between December 19, 2019, and June 30, 2021. M.R. 80/2020 ; 145/2020 Remitting marriage licence fees 4(1) If an issuer of marriage licences is not a civil servant, the issuer must pay to the Minister of Finance, in advance, the sum of $80 for each form of marriage licence he or she receives from the Vital Statistics Agency. 4(2) If an issuer of marriage licences is a civil servant, he or she must remit the fee referred to in section 3 to the Minister of Finance. The issuer is not entitled to and must not accept any additional fee. M.R. 40/2005 ; S.M. 2020, c. 21, s. 210 Remitting marriage licence fee not required in certain circumstances 5 Section 4 does not apply to an issuer of marriage licences if (a) the issuer issues a replacement licence; and (b) the person to whom the replacement licence is issued presents to the issuer on or before September 30, 2021, an expired marriage licence that had been issued between December 19, 2019, and June 30, 2021.
