Standards Committee Regulation, M.R. 316/88 R The Mental Health Act , C.C.S.M. c. M110 Regulation 316/88 R Registered August 29, 1988 bilingual version (HTML) 1 In this regulation, "standards committee" means the committee appointed under subsection 3(2) of The Mental Health Act and includes any medical staff committee established for the purpose of studying or evaluating medical practice in a psychiatric facility. 2 This regulation does not apply where a standards committee has been established under section 24 of The Hospitals Act . 3(1) A standards committee shall assure that a medical audit program is undertaken which will provide an effective evaluation of the quality of care rendered to all patients under the care of the psychiatric facility for which it is appointed. 3(2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the evaluation referred to therein should cover general medical care, including psychiatry and anaesthesia. 3(3) Policies, procedures and records of the audits referred to in subsection (1) shall meet the requirements of the Standards Committee of The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. 4 At the request of its standards committee, the psychiatric facility shall produce for that committee any information in its possession that the committee may deem relevant to its consideration of any matter then under review.
