(« O.M.P. ») 1(2) The "parishes", "settlements", "lots", "sections", "townships", and "ranges", and the numbers thereof, referred to in this regulation, are the parishes, settlements, lots, sections, townships, and ranges, respectively in Manitoba, according to the systems of survey authorized by the Dominion Lands Surveys Act (Canada) (now repealed) and by The Surveys Act and used by the Government of Manitoba, and the numbers thereof according to those systems; and, unless a contrary intention appears, the word "parish" herein includes the river lots and lots in the outer two miles, as they are shown on official maps or plans of record in the office of the Director of Surveys designated under The Surveys Act , and in the land titles offices of the several land titles districts established under The Real Property Act . 1(3) Where in this regulation reference is made by number to two or more lots, sections, townships, or ranges, the number first mentioned and the number last mentioned shall both be deemed to be included in the reference. 1(4) The territorial limits of every municipality bordering on any river or stream include one-half of the river or stream adjacent to the municipality and extend to the centre of the river or stream; and if the territory of any municipality as heretofore defined extends on both sides of any river or stream, the whole of the surface and bed of that part of the river or stream that lies within the borders of the municipality shall be deemed to be a part of the municipality. 1(5) For the purposes of municipal boundaries that are defined by parcels, any government road allowance, or any portion of it, located on the western or southern limit of a municipality or entirely within the limits of a municipality shall be deemed to be included within the territory of that municipality except: (a) where said road allowance or portion thereof is expressly excepted from the territory of that municipality; or (b) where a government road allowance, or portion of it, located between the township system of survey and another form of a referencing system of survey, then that government road allowance or portion thereof shall be deemed to be included within the territory of the municipality which is described by the township system of survey irrespective of the location of the government road allowance. M.R. 29/2000 ; 31/2023 Status continued and boundaries confirmed 2 This regulation shall be so interpreted that the status of a town, village or rural municipality or area or boundaries of a city, town, village or rural municipality respectively, as set out on Schedules A to C upon the first coming into force of this regulation, is or are continued and the area or boundaries of that city, town, village or rural municipality is or are confirmed. Boundaries of cities 3 A city named in a section heading on Schedule A has the area or boundaries described in that section. Status and boundaries of towns and villages 4 A town or village named in a section heading on Schedule B has the status of a town or village and has the area or the boundaries described in that section. Status and boundaries of rural municipalities 5 A rural municipality named in a section heading on Schedule C has the status of a rural municipality and has the area or the boundaries described in that section.
