This Act may cited as the National Parks Lands Act. RSN1970 c245 s1 Back to Top Acquisition of lands for national parks 2. Where lands are required for the establishment by Canada of a national park, (a) the Minister of Tourism and Culture may acquire the lands by purchase; or (b) the Minister of Works, Services and Transportation may acquire the lands under the Expropriation Act. 1981 c4 s55; 1981 c4 Sch F; 1989 c21 Sch B; 1992 c48 s26 ; 1993 cD-19.1 s21 Back to Top Transfer to Government of Canada of lands for national parks 3. The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may, either gratuitously or for the consideration that is considered expedient, transfer to the Government of Canada Crown lands and lands acquired under this Act where those lands are required for the purposes of a national park. This Act shall be read and applied in conjunction with the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement Act and, where a provision of this Act is inconsistent or conflicts with a provision, term or condition of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement Act , the provision, term or condition of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement Act shall have precedence over the provision of this Act. 2004 cL-3.1 s52
