About this statute

This Act section sets rules for witness competency, spouse testimony, self-incrimination, expert evidence, and special confidentiality for quality assurance records. A quality assurance committee must disclose records without revealing the person involved, and a recipient of such a record must not disclose it except for medical research or medical education and only if subsection (3) is followed. The provision also sets corroboration rules for certain actions and gives courts powers about oaths, recordings, and electronic records. This provision sets rules for proving documents and records in court, including when copies, records, and documentary statements can be used instead of originals. This provision covers corroboration, proof of documents, and rules for oaths, affidavits, declarations, commissioners for oaths, and notaries public.
