Candidates for a District Education Authority - Ineligibility (Local Authorities Elections Act, subsections 18(2) and (3) and section 19) A person is not eligible to be nominated or to stand as a candidate for a District Education Authority if he or she (a) is a judge, territorial judge or youth justice court judge; (b) is a member of the Legislative Assembly; (c) is a full time permanent employee of the District Education Authority in receipt of a salary; (d) is an election officer; (e) is a member of the school staff, as defined in the Education Act, in a school in the area within the jurisdiction of the District Education Authority; (f) is a person hired for the delivery of adult education programs; or (g) is an employee of the District Education Authority.
