SPECIAL PERMITS

1. (1) Subject to subsection (2), if the Ministry issues a permit under section 110 of the Act authorizing the moving of heavy vehicles, loads, objects or structures in excess of the dimensional or weight limits set out in section 109 and Part VIII of the Act, respectively, the following fees shall be paid to the Ministry: 1. The fee set out in item 1 of the Table, for an annual term where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or dimensional limits, and i. the total length does not exceed 25 metres, ii. the width does not exceed 3.85 metres (multi-lane) or 3.7 metres (single lane), iii. the height does not exceed 4.26 metres, and iv. the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 63,500 kilograms. 1.1 The fee set out in item 2 of the Table, for an annual term where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or dimensional limits and paragraph 1 does not apply. 2. The fee set out in item 3 of the Table, for a project where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or dimensional limits, and i. the total length does not exceed 36.75 metres, ii. the width does not exceed 4.3 metres, and iii. the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 70,000 kilograms. 2.1 For a project where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or dimensional limits and paragraph 2 does not apply, the amount calculated according to the following formula: A × (0.9995B) × B where “A” is the cost of a comparable single trip permit under paragraph 3, 4 or 5, and “B” is the number of trips to be taken using the permit. 3. For a single trip where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of dimensional limits, the fee set out in item 4 of the Table. 4. For a single trip where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or weight and dimensional limits, the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 120,000 kilograms and, i. the permit is issued for a distance of less than or equal to 100 kilometres, the fee set out in item 5 of the Table, ii. the permit is issued for a distance of greater than 100 kilometres but less than or equal to 500 kilometres, the fee set out in item 6 of the Table, iii. the permit is issued for a distance of greater than 500 kilometres, the fee set out in item 7 of the Table. 5. For a single trip where the vehicle, load, object or structure is in excess of weight or weight and dimensional limits and the gross vehicle weight exceeds 120,000 kilograms, the fee set out in item 8 of the Table. 6. For a replacement permit in case of the loss or destruction of the original, $35. 7. For an amendment to an existing permit, where the amendment does not significantly alter the restriction on the amount of the load being moved or the length of the term of the permit, the fee set out in item 9 of the Table.
