About this statute

This part defines key terms and sets out how an applicant can apply for a teaching certificate, including what documents must be submitted and when language proficiency can be exempted by the Registrar. The Registrar may accept alternative evidence, and applicants must submit required documents and meet the listed requirements to get or keep certain teaching certificates. The Registrar must record certain teaching, principal, and supervisory-officer qualifications on a candidate’s certificate if the listed evidence and experience requirements are met. Some candidates are entitled to transitional recordings, and the Registrar may grant limited exemptions or a one-year extension in some cases. Some College members and new members must complete the sexual abuse prevention program and give the Registrar proof by the stated deadlines.
