If you find any errors or omissions in this consolidation, please contact: Legislative Counsel Office Tel: (902) 368-4292 Email: legislation@gov.pe.ca Cyberbullying Awareness Day Act Section 1 CHAPTER C-34 CYBERBULLYING AWARENESS DAY ACT WHEREAS cyberbullying consists of electronic communication that, directly or indirectly, causes or is likely to cause harm to another individual’s physical or mental health and wellbeing; AND WHEREAS cyberbullying can include intimidation, threats and harassment and can have significant and lifelong negative effects on children and adults; AND WHEREAS Prince Edward Island has seen an increase in cases of cyberbullying; AND WHEREAS Cyberbullying Awareness Day will increase awareness of the problem of cyberbullying and help lead to its prevention; AND WHEREAS the day will help children and adults to protect themselves from cyberbullying by encouraging discussion in schools and workplaces; THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED by the Lieutenant Governor and the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island as follows: 1. Cyberbullying Awareness Day (1) Throughout the Province of Prince Edward Island, April 25th each year shall be known as “Cyberbullying Awareness Day”.
