About this statute

This Act sets rules for the referendum process, including who may campaign, how spending and public money work, and who runs the vote. The Lieutenant Governor in Council must set the referendum period start date by order, and the date must be no more than eight months before the general election. The Lieutenant Governor also keeps the power to dissolve the Legislative Assembly.
