E-.02, Council made the following regulations: 1. Act, defined In these regulations, “Act” means the Education Act R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. E-.02. (EC526/16) 2. Information provided by parent The notice referred to in clause 95(1)(a) of the Act shall include the following information: (a) the name and date of birth of the child; (b) the name, address and telephone number of the parent; and (c) the last school attended by the child, if applicable. Responsibility of parent A parent who provides a home education program to his or her child has a responsibility to ensure, to the best of his or her ability, that the child has an opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop skills that will prepare the child for life as an adult. (EC526/16) 4. School course A student attending a home education program may attend one or more courses offered by an education authority in a school year, if, not later than April 15 of the prior school year, a parent of the student provides written notice to the education authority of the parent’s intention to enrol the student in the course. Authorized textbooks The Minister may provide authorized textbooks to a parent for use in a home education program and may require the payment of a refundable deposit for the textbooks in an amount determined by the Minister.
