H-5. 1. Definitions In these regulations (a) “mobile home” means a dwelling for year round living, towable on its own chassis, for use without a permanent foundation and for connection to utilities; (b) “motor vehicle” means a motor vehicle as defined in the Highway Traffic Act R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. H-5; (c) “recreational vehicle” means a portable structure intended as a temporary accommodation for travel, recreational or vacational use, including travel trailers, motorized homes, slide-in campers, chassis mounted campers and tent trailers. (EC856/72) 2. Inspection agency The Canadian Standards Association is designed as the inspection agency for CSA Standards adopted under these regulations. (EC932/72) 3. Standards for mobile homes and recreational vehicles No person shall have for sale, sell, offer for sale or use a mobile home or recreational vehicle in the province unless the mobile home or recreational vehicle meets: (a) the manufacturing standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), including any amendments to such standards; or (b) the following CSA standards, including any amendments to them: (i) CSA Z240 MH Series 92 (R2005), entitled “Mobile homes”, (ii) CSA Z240 RV Series-14, entitled “Recreational vehicles”. Standards for motor vehicles No person shall have for sale, sell, offer for sale or use a motor vehicle in the province unless the motor vehicle meets the: (a) CSA Standard CSA D106.1-1977 entitled “Vehicle Lighting Equipment (North American Practice)”; (b) ANSI Z26.1-1996 Safety Standard entitled “Safety Glazing Materials for Glazing Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Equipment Operating on Land Highways”, for each piece of glazing material on the motor vehicle.
