Statute overview

About this statute

Electronic records, signatures, and documents can satisfy writing, original, and filing requirements in many cases, and the Act also allows electronic payments and electronic contracting. If electronic documents are used for certain actions, a paper document is not valid unless electronic use has been stopped and replaced by paper; any paper document issued in that situation must state that the electronic use ended.
