This document sets out when several enacted provisions come into force, often by order of the Governor in Council, and one part starts on royal assent or April 1, 2002, whichever is earlier.
An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on December 10, 2001 Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: Short title This Act may be cited as the Budget Implementation Act, 2001. The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority Act is enacted as follows: [Amendment] Coming into force Sections 2 and 3 or any provisions of the Act enacted by section 2 come into force on a day or days to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council. [Note: Sections 2 and 3 in force April 1, 2002, see SI/2002-63.] The Air Travellers Security Charge Act is enacted as follows: [Amendments] This Part comes into force on the day on which it receives royal assent or is deemed to have come into force on April 1, 2002, whichever is the earlier. [Note: Part 2 in force on assent March 27, 2002.] [Transitional provision] Subject to subsection (2), the provisions of this Part or the provisions of any Act enacted by this Part come into force or are deemed to have come into force on a day or days to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council. Section 16 Despite section 153 of the Employment Insurance Act, section 16 comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
