About this statute

This part sets up pilotage authorities, licensing and conduct rules for ships in compulsory pilotage areas, and charge-setting and enforcement powers. This provision gives authorized persons and the Minister enforcement powers over ships, seized things, notices, detention orders, interim orders, violations, and offences, and it sets related duties, prohibitions, penalties, and review steps. This provision requires the Act’s provisions to be referred for committee review at the start of the fifth year after royal assent.
