Social Insurance Number Disclosure Regulations

Regulations Respecting the Disclosure of Social Insurance Numbers for the Purpose of Registration under Section 240 of the Excise Tax Act His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to paragraph 277(1)(d)* of the Excise Tax Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the disclosure of Social Insurance Numbers for the purpose of registration under section 240 of the Excise Tax Act. S.C. 1990, c. 45, s. 12(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Insurance Number Disclosure Regulations. Every individual who applies to the Minister to be registered pursuant to section 240 of the Excise Tax Act in the form prescribed by the Minister for that purpose shall disclose therein the individual’s Social Insurance Number.
