About this statute

This Act defines key benefit terms and sets rules for old age pension and supplement eligibility, applications, waivers, payment timing, suspension, and some indexed amounts. This provision lets certain applicants or their spouses/common-law partners file extra estimated-income statements after retirement or a pension-income loss, and it sets reporting, notice, and Minister review rules for supplement and allowance applications. This provision sets rules for benefit amounts, payment timing, reconsideration and appeals, recovery of overpayments, offences and penalties, and several ministerial powers. The Minister can inspect and request documents for administering or enforcing the Act, but cannot enter a dwelling-house without consent or a warrant.
