About this statute

This law states that Congress of Colombia decrees certain provisions about elections to be held on 8 March 1992. Whoever votes in the March 8, 1992 elections is deemed to declare under oath that they live in the relevant municipality. Las cabezas de lista y ciertos candidatos sólo pueden modificar candidaturas por muerte o incapacidad psíquica o física permanente, y no puede haber cambios en las tarjetas electorales. Jurados de votación que no firmen las actas, o que sin justa causa no asistan o abandonen sus funciones, pueden recibir sanciones; los empleados públicos o trabajadores oficiales pueden ser destituidos o tener terminado el contrato, y los demás ciudadanos reciben una multa. A candidate is declared elected mayor if they have the majority of votes.
