About this statute

This is the opening text of Law 36 of 1993, which says the profession of bacteriologist is regulated and other provisions are issued. This provision defines the bacteriologist as a university-trained professional and describes the main areas of work covered by the profession. A Bacteriólogo may practice only if the person meets the listed requirements: has the academic diploma, has completed the mandatory social service, and gets the professional card from the regional health services.
