Statute overview

About this statute

Esta disposición indica que la ley aprueba el Convenio de París para la Protección de la Propiedad Industrial. The article says the countries covered by the Convention form a Union for the protection of industrial property, and it describes what industrial property covers. Nationals of each Union country must receive the same industrial-property protection and legal remedies in other Union countries, and no residence or establishment condition may be required for those rights. Certain non-Union nationals are assimilated to Union nationals if they are domiciled in, or have effective and serious industrial or commercial establishments in, a Union country. This article gives certain applicants a right of priority for later filings in other Union countries, and sets the related filing conditions and time limits.
