About this statute
This law orders the national flag to be raised and national symbols to be displayed in certain public, educational, military, police, and Colombian foreign representation settings. Se ordena izar la Bandera Nacional y colocar el Escudo Nacional de forma permanente en ciertos lugares públicos y misiones de Colombia en el exterior. The specifications for the national emblems are the ones defined by law. School principals or directors must hold a weekly civic ceremony during academic periods, with all students participating, and include raising the National Flag and singing the national anthem of Colombia. Los funcionarios con máxima autoridad en ciertas entidades e instalaciones, y en los centros educativos oficiales, deben cumplir estrictamente la ley; si incumplen, pueden ser sancionados. En los centros educativos privados, el incumplimiento de los artículos 1 y 3 puede dar lugar a multas sucesivas.
