About this statute

This text is the preamble to Law 211 of 1995, which regulates agronomic and forestry professions in Colombia and creates the National Professional Council for Agronomic and Forestry Professions; it also notes the law was repealed by Law 1325 of 2009. This article defines “profesiones agronómicas y forestales” for legal purposes and says the law has been repealed by a 2009 law. Para ejercer profesiones agronómicas y forestales, la persona debe acreditar su formación e idoneidad profesional, presentar el título reconocido por la ley y obtener la matrícula profesional del consejo profesional indicado. Prior professional registrations remain valid and are presumed authentic; until the new professional council is created, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issues the registrations. Only the listed engineers may get the professional registration, practice the profession, and use the title in the national territory, subject to the stated education and convalidation conditions.
