About this statute

This is the preamble for Law 222 of 1995, identifying the law and its broad subject matter. This article introduces the rule that follows and states that Article 100 of the Commercial Code will be replaced as set out here. Companies formed to carry out mercantile acts are treated as commercial; companies without mercantile acts in their purpose are civil; in any case, commercial and civil companies are subject to mercantile legislation. This article amends Article 103 of the Commercial Code.
