About this statute
Ley 262 de 1996: autoriza a algunas cooperativas financieras a acceder a recursos de Finagro y fija criterios generales para la intervención del Gobierno Nacional. Certain savings-and-credit cooperatives may rediscount agricultural loans through Finagro if they are authorized and do financial activity with third parties. Obligations in favor of Finagro from rediscount operations have the right to be paid with sums or assets excluded from the entities’ liquidation estate. The Government National must set a minimum amount or share of resources that certain Finagro rediscounters must direct to the agricultural sector, and it must do so in coordination with the Central Bank Board. This law takes effect on the date it is published in the Official Gazette.
