About this statute

The law authorizes Banco de la República to take part in issuing international gold or silver coin series for commemorative or numismatic purposes. El Banco de la República puede acuñar una moneda de oro o plata con fines conmemorativos o numismáticos, ponerla en circulación y distribuirla; la Junta Directiva define monto, valor facial, precios, aleaciones y demás características. The Banco de la República must treat minting costs for the coin as operating expenses, and sales income from that coin as operating income. This article says the law takes effect from the date it is published.
