About this statute

This law states that Colombia’s values, national symbols, and native cultural expressions are exalted, and it establishes July 15 to August 15 each year as the month of the homeland. Declares July 15 to August 15 each year as the “mes de la patria” nationwide. Several named authorities are responsible for programming, coordinating, and carrying out all events during this period, locally in districts and municipalities and nationally. This article says that, during this month, contests, workshops, meetings, and conferences about national folklore and cultural expressions will be held and awarded throughout the country.
