Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to Law 584 of 2000, stating that it repeals and amends some provisions of the Colombian Labour Code. Employers and workers may freely associate, form organizations or unions, affiliate with them, and unions may federate; these groups must follow the title’s rules and are subject to government inspection and oversight on public-order matters. This provision changes item 3 of article 362 of the Labor Code so it reads “Conditions of admission.” This article changes items e), f), and g) of article 365 on union registration.
