About this statute
This law declares the eradication of classical swine fever in all of Colombia to be a matter of national social interest. Declara de interés social nacional la erradicación de la peste porcina clásica (PPC) en el territorio nacional. The program’s physical, technical, technological, and organizational operation must follow principles of consultation and joint management between the public and private sectors. Pig-farmer organizations and other sector organizations must participate in the disease eradication project, in addition to meeting their own objectives. La vigilancia epidemiológica es de responsabilidad general; varios grupos deben notificar sospechas de la enfermedad, y el ICA debe consolidar la información generada.
