Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to Law 680 of 2001, stating that it reforms several earlier laws and sets out other provisions on television. Certain public-operation national channel concessionaires may merge, form consortia, or create new legal entities, but only with prior authorization and subject to ownership and contract-equivalence limits. Certain TV operators and concessionaires must meet minimum quarterly quotas for national programming, with higher requirements for national channels and special weekend/holiday rules.
