About this statute

This preamble says Colombia approved Convention 182 on the prohibition and immediate elimination of the worst forms of child labor. Any Member that ratifies the Convention must take immediate and effective measures to prohibit and eliminate the worst forms of child labor. For this Convention, “child” means any person under 18 years old. This article defines “the worst forms of child labor” for purposes of the convention. The competent authority or national law must determine the types of work covered, after consulting employers’ and workers’ organizations and considering relevant international standards.
