About this statute
This law establishes Colombia’s National Day of Afro-Colombianity. Se establece el Día Nacional de la Afrocolombianidad y se celebrará cada 21 de mayo. A commemorative campaign will be carried out, and its coordination is assigned to the Directorate General of Black Communities, Ethnic Minorities and Cultural Communities of the Ministry of the Interior. El Gobierno Nacional queda autorizado para hacer las apropiaciones presupuestales y los traslados necesarios para cumplir esta ley. This article states that the law takes effect from its promulgation and sanction.
