Statute overview

About this statute

This provision identifies Law 776 of 2002, which sets rules on the organization, administration, and benefits of the General System of Professional Risks in Colombia. Defines temporary incapacity as a condition where an affiliate’s acute illness or injury prevents them from working for a determined period. A worker with a temporary disability is entitled to a subsidy equal to 100% of the contribution-based salary base, paid during the incapacity period and subject to the stated time limits. When temporary incapacity ends, employers must return the worker to the former job or reassign them to another suitable job in the same category, if the worker has regained working capacity.
