Statute overview
About this statute
This law states that it supports national industry through public procurement. Public entities that must choose contractors through public procurement methods must use objective criteria to support national industry, with stated exceptions. Certain contracting entities must give a score bonus for national goods or services, and a smaller score bonus for foreign goods or services; if a foreign bid ties a national bid, the contract goes to the national bidder. This law applies, but only without prejudice to Colombia’s signed international agreements.
