About this statute

This law declares certain old school buildings as cultural and historical heritage and recognizes other schools as national monuments. El Estado colombiano reconoce y exalta la labor educativa, cultural y formativa de las sociedades de los Hermanos Cristianos y la Compañía de Jesús en ciertos colegios de Barranquilla y Cartagena. It says the city’s old buildings in the central sector should be declared national cultural and historical heritage because of their architectural, historical, and urban value. El Gobierno Nacional queda facultado para destinar recursos, por medio de los ministerios competentes, a la restauración, adecuación, remodelación, conservación y ornato de las edificaciones mencionadas en el artículo 2o. This law takes effect from the date it is promulgated.
