About this statute
This law declares the Meira del Mar Departmental Public Library part of the Nation’s cultural and educational heritage. Declares the Atlántico Departmental Public Library “Meira del Mar” to be cultural and educational heritage of the Nation. The Atlántico department remains in charge of administering this cultural center, using its own resources and general participation-system funds, in accordance with the law. Items with special historical, artistic, aesthetic, architectural, environmental, ecological, linguistic, sound, musical, audiovisual, film, scientific, testimonial, documentary, literary, bibliographic, or hemorographic interest form the patrimony of the stated public library. El departamento del Atlántico debe coordinar el mejoramiento locativo, la amplitud, la dotación y el mantenimiento, y buscar la participación del Distrito Especial de Barranquilla y de la Nación.
